Regarding Status of a Deacon:
Mr. James Bronder, former incardinated deacon of the Diocese of Toledo, recently petitioned the Holy Father for a dispensation from the obligations of the clerical state, including that of celibacy. The Holy Father has granted his request for this favor. Kindly remember Mr. Bronder and his family in your prayers.
Regarding Extern Priests serving in the Diocese:
Reverend Antony Britto Dhanasamy, SAC, Pallotine priest of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Province in Bangalore (India), after mutual discernment and collaboration, will conclude his assignment as Parochial Vicar of All Saints Parish, Rossford, and Saint Jerome Parish, Walbridge effective 15 January 2023. Fr. Britto will await his next assignment, outside of the Diocese of Toledo, from his provincial superior.
Reverend Jacob George, Parochial Vicar of the Sandusky Catholic Parishes, has made the decision to return to, and has departed for, his home diocese, the Syro-Malankara Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum, Kerala, India.
Reverend Manoj Mammen has presented his resignation from the office of Pastor, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Toledo, indicating that he has accepted an assignment to serve in Washington, D.C. with the Syro-Malankara Catholic Eparchy in the USA & Canada. Bishop Daniel Thomas has accepted Father Mammen’s resignation, which will be effective 30 June 2023.
Reverend Thomas Varghese, Pastor, Saint Mary Parish, Millersville and Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, Gibsonburg, has been recalled by his bishop to his home diocese, the Syro-Malankara Diocese of Puttur, India.
Regarding Diocesan Intentional Planning Configurations:
Saint Paul the Apostle Parish, Norwalk will be joined with the already twinned parishes of Saint Mary, Mother of the Redeemer, Norwalk, and Saint Anthony of Padua Parish, Milan and become a tri-parish grouping, effective 1 July 2023. One Pastor and two Parochial Vicars will serve the three parishes.
