Funding to ensure a vibrant future for the vital ministries of the Diocese

Bishop Daniel E. Thomas today announces the public kickoff of a diocesan-wide capital and endowment campaign. The Living Christ campaign will aim to raise a minimum of $65 million dollars to enhance the vitality of our local Church with a focus on six priority areas: Strengthening Our Parishes; Supporting Our Clergy; Caring for the Poor; Developing Emerging Disciples in our Catholic Schools; Restoring Our Mother Church – Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral and Forming our Lay Leaders. With early campaign efforts already underway, thanks to the extraordinary generosity shown thus far, the diocese has raised 27 percent of the goal in gifts and pledges.

According to Bishop Thomas, “This historic capital and endowment campaign will address significant needs in parishes, schools, and ministries of our 19-county diocese, and its impact will be felt today and resonate for generations to come. In launching the Living Christ campaign, we are being responsible stewards who, like our predecessors, are doing everything we can to guarantee a bright future where the Gospel is preached and authentically lived.”

Having concluded a successful pilot phase, the timing of this announcement coincides with the beginning of the first of three waves of activity throughout our 122 parishes. Each parish will conduct the Campaign in its local community, either this Spring, this Fall, or in the Spring of 2023. Bishop Thomas states, “With this public announcement, I invite all the good folks throughout our region to pray for, participate in, and promote our Living Christ Campaign.”
