Cardinal Edwin O'Brien to celebrate Mass on Father's Day at Rosary Cathedral

The faithful of the Diocese of Toledo are invited to join His Eminence, Cardinal Edwin F. O'Brien, who will serve as principal celebrant, for Mass at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 19 at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral (2535 Collingwood Boulevard, Toledo). Later that day, Cardinal O'Brien will throw out the first pitch at the Toledo Mud Hens game scheduled for 6:05 p.m. at Fifth Third Field in downtown Toledo.

Cardinal O'Brien serves as Grand Master of the Equestrian Order (Knights) of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and formerly was the Archbishop of Baltimore (2007-2011) and Archbishop for the Military Services, USA (1997-2007). The Knights of the Holy Sepulchre is a fraternal organization that coordinates at the global level donations and other support for the Church in the Holy Land.

Elevated to the College of Cardinals in 2012, Cardinal O'Brien is one of approximately 200 Cardinals worldwide who advise the Holy Father on ecclesiastical matters, and some of whom participate in the papal conclave which elects the Bishop of Rome.

Cardinal O'Brien is visiting the Diocese of Toledo as the featured speaker at its 2016 Priests' Convocation, where he will speak on the priest as both a minister and recipient of God's mercy along with the urgent concern of Christians in the Middle East.
