Diocese of Toledo announces 7 canonical appointments

Bishop Daniel E. Thomas has made the following appointments, effective July 1, 2016:

  • Reverend Jacob A. Gordon from Pastor of Saints Adalbert and Hedwig Parish and Saint Joseph Parish, Toledo, to Pastor of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Attica, and Saint Gaspar del Bufalo Parish, Bellevue.

  • Reverend Monte J. Hoyles as Parochial Administrator^ of Saints Adalbert and Hedwig Parish, Toledo, in addition to his responsibilities as Chancellor of the Diocese of Toledo.

  • Reverend Francis Mariadas, SAC, as Parochial Vicar* of Saint Joan of Arc Parish, Toledo.

  • Reverend Matthew R. Rader as Parochial Administrator^ of Saint Joseph Parish, Toledo, in addition to his responsibilities as Priest Leader and Director of Pastoral Formation at Toledo Central Catholic High School.

  • Reverend Walter Tuscano, SAC, from Parochial Vicar* of Saint Joan of Arc Parish, Toledo, to Parochial Vicar of Saint Wendelin Parish, Fostoria.

  • Reverend Vincente A. Vera from Parochial Vicar* of Saint Patrick of Heatherdowns Parish, Toledo, to Parochial Vicar of Epiphany of the Lord Parish, Toledo.

  • Mr. Jim McCoy as Pastoral Leader of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, Kelleys Island, and Mother of Sorrows Parish, Put-In-Bay.

Bishop Thomas also is announcing the following retirements, effective July 1, 2016:

  • Reverend Stephen J. Blum from Pastor of Saint Charles Borromeo Parish, Lima, and Saint Patrick Parish, Spencerville, to Senior Status.
  • Sister Lucille Kime, SND, Pastoral Leader of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, Kelleys Island, and Mother of Sorrows Parish, Put-In-Bay.

^Parochial Administrator is the canonical term for a priest who temporarily takes the place of a pastor of a parish.
*Parochial Vicar is the canonical term for an associate pastor of a parish.
