The Historic Church of Saint Patrick (130 Avondale Avenue, Toledo) will honor local firefighters and first responders at its 10th annual Mass with Firefighters at 10 a.m. Sunday, September 11 -- the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Those in attendance will have an opportunity to pray for firefighters and rescue personnel currently in service, retirees and those who have lost their lives. Active and retired first responders of all faiths along with their family and friends are invited to attend.
Immediately following the Mass, a brunch will be held for all in attendance at The Blarney Irish Pub (601 Monroe Street, Toledo).
A side altar in the Historic Church of Saint Patrick was dedicated to St. Florian, the patron saint of firefighters, nine years ago and contains badges from fire departments all across the United States and the world.
