Statement of the Diocese of Toledo Regarding Lourdes University
The Diocese of Toledo is aware that the Sisters of Saint Francis of Sylvania have determined to close Lourdes University. As a diocese, we are deeply disappointed that we are losing our only Catholic liberal arts university. Bishop Daniel Thomas was informed only yesterday by the leadership of the Sisters of Saint Francis of Sylvania of their decision to close the university. We send our prayers and encouragement to the Sisters of Saint Francis of Sylvania during this time of transition, and to all the administration, faculty, staff and students as they seek a new home.
