From December 17 through December 23, the Church prays the “O Antiphons,” ancient titles for Christ used with the Magnificat at Evening Prayer. Their familiar themes also appear in the hymn “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.”
Each antiphon expresses our longing for the Savior and offers a brief focus for prayer during the final days before Christmas.
