100th Anniversary Celebration of Our Lady of Consolation Province
On Sunday, May 3, the Our Lady of Consolation Parish and Shrine Community will celebrate 100 Years of the Conventual Franciscan Province of Our Lady of Consolation and we want you to be there! In 1912, the Friars of the Immaculate Conception Province based in New York came to serve the Shrine at the request of Bishop Joseph B. Schrembs. Just 14 years later, a new Conventual Franciscan province was formed to serve the Midwest. The friars chose to name the province after Our Lady of Consolation because their ministry in Carey, Ohio, had been so fruitful.
The celebration begins with 11:00am Mass. The principal celebrant will be Fr. Martin Day, OFM Conv., the Provincial of the Province of Our Lady of Consolation.
Following Mass, all are invited to a catered luncheon in the Shrine Cafeteria. It will be a very good and hearty meal! Advance registration is required for the luncheon. Details can be found at https://olcshrine.com/parish-shrine-news/100th-anniversary-celebration/. The cost is $15.00 for ages 7 and older. Children 6 and under are free.
We hope to see you on May 3 and celebrate with you!
