
On Saturday, October 4, we celebrate the Solemnity of Saint Francis of Assisi!
- All are invited to the Basilica & Shrine's final Hope and Healing Mass of the year. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated within Mass following the homily. During the closing song, all present are invited to come forward to receive an individual blessing with the Relic of the True Cross.
- From 11:30am-1:30pm, the Knights of Columbus will be hosting a lunch in the Shrine Cafeteria. A donation of $7.00 is suggested.
- At 2:00pm in the Upper Basilica, Full Shrine Devotions with an outdoor Rosary Procession will be prayed.
- Confessions will be available in the Lower Basilica from 3:30-4:30pm.
In accordance with the Enchiridion of Indulgences, no. 68, "a plenary indulgence is granted to the faithful, who devoutly visit a church or oratory of Religious on the Feast of the canonized Founder, and there recite one Our Father and the Creed" or take part in any sacred rite. This visit can take place any time between “noon of the preceding day [October 3] to midnight at the close of the day itself [October 4]." EI, no. 18
