Scholarship Granting Organization

- The State of Ohio recently updated the legislation to specify that donors can make a gift to an SGO and qualify to receive the tax credit at any time before they file their taxes for the year.

- In any given year, the donor has the option to contribute up to the federal filing deadline of April 15.


Stocks/ Securities:

- Per IRS guidelines, stock gifts must be received in the Diocese of Toledo's brokerage account by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on December 31st in order to qualify as a charitable donation this tax year. Please note, during the holidays, brokerage firms do not guarantee transfer at the end of the year for requests made after certain dates. Please confirm end of the year transfer cut-off dates with your broker.
