The Diocese of Toledo is searching for a full- time Administrative Assistant to join the Clergy, Consecrated Life, and Vocations Department. The Administrative Assistant assists the offices of the department by providing administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the department consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the Diocese of Toledo.

Top Qualifications:

  • At least three (3) years of experience in a professional office environment performing administrative duties, including experience in record keeping, Microsoft office products, Word, Excel, Outlook and spreadsheets; typing and filing.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including ability to produce clear, concise reports and correspondence as well as being self-motivated.

  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work effectively and efficiently including developing and maintaining effective record-keeping systems and calendars. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to establish and adjust priorities.

Vocations Office and Events Coordinator - Diocese of Toledo Pastoral Center

The Office of Vocations is searching for an Office and Events Coordinator to facilitate and support the work of the Office of Vocations and the Director of Diocesan Priestly Vocations in the promotion and formation of vocations to the priesthood for the Diocese of Toledo. The Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of the Office of Vocations and serves as on-site coordinator of events.

This is a part-time position, approximately, 20-25 hours per week, on-site at the Diocese of Toledo Pastoral Center.

Top Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in an area of study related to Office Management. General Business, Pastoral Ministry or equivalent in experience.

  • At least three (3) years of experience in a professional office environment performing administrative duties, with event planning and financial oversight experience preferred.

  • Computer expertise in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Working knowledge and/or ability to manage website input and data necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Available for evening/weekend meetings and travel within the 19 counties of the Diocese of Toledo.

Senior Director of the Department of Catholic Education - Diocese of Toledo - Department of Catholic Education

The mission of Catholic education, which is at the heart of the Church, is to form new disciples in spreading the Good News. In the Diocese of Toledo, this is done primarily through the work of 60 Catholic schools, educating nearly 16,000 students in Pre-Kindergarten to grade 12, and parish schools of religion in our 122 parishes, serving approximately 14,000 students, as well as supporting homeschool families. Catholic education participates in the Church’s evangelizing mission of bringing the gospel to the ends of the earth. We work to make God known, loved, and served in our classrooms, parish halls, and communities.

The Senior Director of the Department of Catholic Education will provide leadership, direct supervision, and manage the Catholic Education Department team. This faith-inspired, big-picture, strategic, innovative leader will promote and advance the Catholic identity, academic excellence, and ensure the vitality and viability of the Catholic schools. She/he will assist the Bishop of Toledo in his teaching mission by encouraging and supporting leaders of catechetical formation in the parishes and schools while overseeing the catechetical formation, from youth to adult formation, as well as care for home school families.

Top Qualifications:

A Master’s degree in Education and/or Administration and have obtained the necessary certification in compliance with standards set forth by the State of Ohio, Department of Education and Workforce.

Must have at least ten years’ experience in Catholic educational ministry, preferably as a Catholic school principal, superintendent, school administrator, and/or diocesan Catholic education official.

Family Catechesis Coordinator - Diocese of Toledo Pastoral Center

The Diocese of Toledo is searching for a Family Catechesis Coordinator to join our Department of Catholic Education, serving the Catholic schools, parish schools of religion, and homeschool families in the Diocese of Toledo. The Family Catechesis Coordinator plans, integrates, implements, oversees, and evaluates religious education, Sacramental preparation, and adult faith formation throughout the diocese. The Family Catechesis Coordinator assists pastors, Directors of Religious Education, and Catholic school administrators in their development, facilitation, and supervision of family-centered catechetical programs, with an emphasis on engaging parents, the primary educators, empowering families to assist in the formation of their children.

Top Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge that would demonstrate a current basic knowledge of the teachings of the Catholic faith. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred in Pastoral Ministry, Theology, Religious Education or similar course of study that would demonstrate a current basic knowledge of theology, catechesis and ministry.

  • At least three (3) years of successful experience leading and directing programs and events at a parish or diocesan level is preferred.

    Ability to clearly and enthusiastically communicate the vision, mission, and goals of family-centered catechetical programs and to motivate others in sharing the faith with renewed enthusiasm and new methods.

The COO/FO is responsible for the administration of the temporal goods of the Diocese and their strategic use for the benefit of the Diocese, its parishes, schools, ecclesiastical organizations, employees, and all the Catholic faithful. This executive is responsible for ensuring that all financial systems and controls reflect best practices, as well as implementing the necessary operational and organizational processes that will enable continuous improvement and ongoing growth opportunities for the Diocese.

Top Qualifications:

  • The COO/FO must be a Catholic, in communion with the Church. Accordingly, this person must be living out the five precepts of the Church (Catechism of the Catholic Church §§2041-2043).

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, business administration, finance or economics; CPA certification required; MBA strongly preferred.

  • Minimum of ten years of experience managing a professional financial and accounting staff as well as administrative and IT functions; experience may have been gained as a CFO, Controller or Director of Finance with a public or private corporation, or with a not-for-profit institution.
