Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry - Saint Rose Parish, Perrysburg

Saint Rose Parish, Perrysburg, is hiring a full-time Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry to create a junior high ministry program with the planned trajectory of creating a high school youth ministry program in the future. This position will seek to meet the spiritual needs of the young people of Saint Rose Parish through the creation and supervision of various teams and programs, as well as through direct interaction with those young people.

The scope and focus of this ministry will initially be to Junior High-aged youth (grades 6-8) with the goal of expanding to High School-aged youth (grades 9-12) in the future. The oversight and development of the current parish Young Adult Ministry (ages 18-39) will also be an obligation of this position.

It is expected that the candidate have a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Theology or an equivalent field, have two years of ministry experience as a volunteer or in a professional role, and be versed in social media. The candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic and in good standing with the Church. The position requires a FBI/BCI background prior to employment and the candidate must remain compliant in accordance to diocesan requirements.

Full-time Director of Liturgical Music Ministries - Saint Charles Borromeo Parish, Lima

St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Lima, OH (Diocese of Toledo) is seeking a full-time Director of Liturgical Music Ministries. St. Charles is a thriving parish of 1,350 families and a 400 student school. Established music ministries include Cantors, Adult Choir, Handbell Choirs, and Youth Choir.

St. Charles has a completely restored Steinway 1915 Model A Grand Piano, a three-manual Rodgers T927 Digital Organ with midi-capability, and a five-octave set of handbells.

The successful applicant will be skilled on keyboard and vocals and proficient in conducting ensembles. Requirements include the ability to play and sing traditional and contemporary music as well as lead the assembly into full, active, and conscious participation.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of the liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church and the ability to plan and coordinate the liturgies of the parish as well as the use of technology. The ability to work well with the parish leadership team and the various liturgical ministers is also an essential requirement.

This full-time position includes benefits and compensation commensurate to experience, skill, and education. A practicing Catholic and registered member of the Catholic parish faith community is preferred. The position is currently available and will remain open until filled, with the hope that the position will be filled no later than June 1, 2024.

The youth minister provides enthusiastic, efficient, and professional leadership and day-to-day supervision of the youth ministry efforts (primarily 8th-12th grades) of the parishes.

  • Work as a team player with the Director of Religious Education and other staff members at the parishes and the school.
  • Develop a core team of adults that focus on leading small groups and mentoring the teens.
  • Plan and execute a summer trip that is open to all students of the parishes.
  • Schedule follow up gatherings after the summer trip has ended.
  • Schedule weekly small group nights throughout the school year.
  • Prioritize building relationships with teenagers in a variety of settings. Spend time in the high schools when in session.

Music Director - St. Paul Catholic Church, Norwalk, Ohio

St. Paul Catholic Church in Norwalk, Ohio is seeking a full-time Director of Sacred Music beginning July 1, 2024. The primary function of the Director will be to oversee the liturgical music program of St. Paul Catholic Church in close collaboration with the pastor, including one Saturday evening Mass, and five Sunday Masses and also Holy Day Masses and other liturgies requiring music (such as weddings, funerals, school Masses (High School and elementary), penance services, vespers, stations of the cross, etc.). The Director will also serve as the primary organist and pianist for the parish. St. Paul’s currently has a mixed choir, folk choir, funeral choir, children’s choir, and a high school choir, as well as a cantoring program. The Director will also have an advisory role in the music programs of two sister parishes (each sister parish has two weekend Masses). The Director is also in charge of the maintenance of the pipe organ and pianos.

An interested candidate should be a faithful and practicing Catholic, have a college degree (preferably in Sacred Music), be proficient at the organ and piano, and have considerable experience in Catholic parish ministry. The ideal candidate will have a love for the musical tradition of the Church, with some experience and knowledge of both English and Latin chant.
